CLIENT: Highland Nutrition Center, health food store in Highland, IL
AUDIENCE: Store customers
GOAL: Maintain distinct branding throughout store materials while effectively communicating messaging changes, product prices, and other relevant information.
PROCESS: Highland Nutrition Center has unique branding that speaks to the care and individualized attention the store provides to each customer. The main brand elements are a friendly font, hearts, and welcoming purples, greens, and yellows. As the store has grown and overhauled out-of-date processes over the last few years, my job as a designer has been to reflect necessary messaging changes while connecting with the store’s customers via the store’s recognizable branding. As a small business with limited resources, many of the materials I’ve created have also had to be flexible enough to be used in different ways and reused many times. This includes creating price tags that can be adjusted with wet erase markers, signs made editable in Microsoft Word for those without access to or knowledge of Adobe products, and holiday posters that are timeless enough to be used year after year.
OUTCOME: I have continued to apply the store’s branding to new materials, contributing to the store’s success via information being more efficiently communicated with customers and a more cohesive look that allows for better brand recognition.
